Terms of Service
Effective date: February 27, 2026
1. Agreement
By using the website it-neighbor.com or engaging The IT Neighbor for repair services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services. "We," "us," and "our" refer to The IT Neighbor. "You" refers to the customer.
2. Services
The IT Neighbor provides on-site and remote computer, laptop, and network repair services to residential and small-business customers in the West Los Angeles area, including Marina Del Rey, Santa Monica, El Segundo, Culver City, Venice, Playa Del Rey, and surrounding neighborhoods.
Services are provided on a best-effort basis. We will clearly describe the work to be done and its estimated cost before starting any repair. No repair work will begin without your explicit approval.
3. Service Area & Availability
We serve the West Los Angeles area listed on our Service Areas page. We reserve the right to decline service requests outside our coverage area. Service availability is subject to technician scheduling. We will contact you to confirm an appointment time after you submit a ticket or contact form.
Hours of operation: Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–7:00 PM, Saturday 9:00 AM–3:00 PM. Urgent requests are accommodated as availability allows.
4. Quotes, Pricing & Payment
Quoted prices are estimates based on the information you provide. Final pricing may change if the scope of work differs from the original description once diagnostics are complete. You will always be notified of any pricing change before work proceeds.
Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept credit/debit cards, cash, and Zelle. Prices are in US dollars.
A diagnostic fee may apply if you decline the recommended repair after diagnosis. This fee covers the technician's time and will be communicated upfront.
5. Cancellations & Rescheduling
We ask that you cancel or reschedule at least 4 hours in advance of a scheduled on-site appointment. Late cancellations or no-shows may result in a trip fee to cover the technician's travel time.
6. Data & Privacy During Service
We will only access files, accounts, or settings necessary to diagnose and resolve your reported issue. We will never access personal files, photos, financial accounts, or private communications beyond what is required for the repair.
We strongly recommend you back up your data before any repair. While we take every precaution, repairs — especially hardware replacements and OS installations — carry an inherent risk of data loss. We are not liable for data loss that occurs during the repair process.
7. Data Recovery
Data recovery services are provided on a best-effort basis. We cannot guarantee the recovery of any specific file or all files from a failed, corrupted, or damaged storage device. Charges for data recovery apply whether or not recovery is successful, unless we specifically agree in writing to a "no data, no charge" arrangement before beginning work.
8. Warranty on Repairs
Labor on repairs is warranted for 30 days from the date of service. If the same issue recurs within 30 days due to our workmanship, we will return to fix it at no additional charge. This warranty does not cover:
- New or unrelated issues that arise after service.
- Damage caused by physical impact, liquid, power surges, or user error after service.
- Manufacturer defects in parts not supplied by us.
- Software issues caused by malware, system updates, or third-party applications installed after service.
Parts and components carry the manufacturer's warranty, if any. We do not extend or modify manufacturer warranties.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The IT Neighbor's total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to our services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service in question.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of business, or loss of profits, arising from the use of or inability to use our services.
10. User Portal
The user portal at it-neighbor.com/portal allows registered customers to submit and track repair tickets. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You may not share your account with others.
You agree not to use the portal to submit false, misleading, or abusive information. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
11. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, images, logos, and code — is owned by The IT Neighbor or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any site content without our written permission.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Los Angeles County, California.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
