About

Your Local IT Partner

The IT Neighbor is West LA's outsourced IT department for small and growing businesses. Founded by Roman Semkiv, a senior IT consultant with 10+ years managing business networks, workstations, and cybersecurity across the LA area — with the personal touch of a neighbor who actually picks up the phone — for businesses, freelancers, and homes across West LA.

I cover Marina Del Rey, Santa Monica, El Segundo, Culver City, Venice, and Playa Del Rey. When you call or submit a ticket, you're talking directly to the technician who will show up at your door — no dispatchers, no runaround.

My goal is simple: fix your problem, explain what happened, and make sure it doesn't happen again. I don't upsell parts you don't need. I give you an honest assessment and a fair price.

FAQ

Common Questions

Do you provide IT support for businesses?

Yes — business clients are our priority. We offer managed IT plans with proactive monitoring, helpdesk support, cybersecurity, and on-site visits. Plans are month-to-month with SLA-backed response times (4-hour standard, 1-hour premium). No long-term contracts required.

Do I need a contract for ongoing IT support?

No — all managed plans are month-to-month with 30-day notice to cancel. We earn your business every month. We also offer prepaid hour blocks and one-time service calls if you prefer pay-as-you-go.

What's your response time for business emergencies?

Standard managed clients have a 4-hour SLA. Premium clients have a 1-hour emergency SLA. All managed clients have access to an emergency phone line for critical outages.

Can you come to my home or office?

Yes — on-site service is our specialty. We cover Marina Del Rey, Santa Monica, El Segundo, Culver City, Venice, and Playa Del Rey. Most on-site visits happen the same day.

How much does computer repair cost in West LA?

Service calls start at $179, which covers up to 2 hours of on-site work. Diagnostics are free with any repair or fix. You get an upfront quote before any work begins — no surprise bills.

Do you fix Macs and iPhones?

We service all Mac hardware and macOS software. For iPhones, we focus on software issues and data recovery — physical screen repairs are best done by an Apple authorized service center.

What if my computer can't be fixed?

You only pay for the service call (waived if we fix it). If your machine can't be saved, we'll help you recover your data and advise on replacement options.
