A couple working from home in their Marina Del Rey condo were sharing a single ISP router that struggled to reach their home office β€” just 40 feet from the router. Thick concrete walls and an elevator shaft in the middle of the building caused speeds to drop from 940 Mbps near the router to under 12 Mbps in the office. Video calls were dropping daily.

We performed a Wi-Fi spectrum analysis to map signal strength throughout the unit and identify interference sources (neighboring networks + a microwave). We deployed a three-node Eero Pro 6E mesh system with the main node connected via Ethernet to the ISP modem. Two satellite nodes were placed to triangulate coverage. We also set up a dedicated VLAN for work devices and a separate guest network.

Every room now tests above 600 Mbps. The home office β€” the previous dead zone β€” averages 780 Mbps. Video calls are stable. The guest network means their Ring doorbell and smart TV are isolated from work laptops.
